Description
Ness House and its attached outbuilding date from the early 18th century or earlier. The house is two storeys high, built of coursed rubble with rusticated quoins, and features a Welsh slate roof with coped gable ends and kneelers. There are two brick stacks at the gable ends. The front has three windows with hung sashes that do not have glazing bars, positioned under lintels with keystones. The central door consists of six fielded panels and is set in a slightly projecting stone rusticated surround, also featuring a keystone and a rectangular fanlight above. There are two steps leading up to the door, along with an inset foot scraper. The eaves cornice is cavetto moulded. To the right, the attached outbuilding is a single storey, also made of coursed rubble, with a pantile roof, a plain door under a wooden lintel, and a carriage doorway. Ness House and the outbuilding are part of a group with Nos 72 and 73, and 75 to 78, which are buildings of local interest.
