RAINTON WITH NEWBY BALDERSBY PARK Surround to reservoir on hill top approximately 400 metres west of Baldersby Park House

Surround to reservoir. C18. Squared, coursed sandstone. Circular, approximately 10 metres diameter inside. Wide retaining bank faced with stone on inner and outer faces and approximately 1.5 metres high. The bowl-shaped surround is lined with stone slabs, heavily overgrown. C20 concrete tank attached to south side. Water is pumped up from a bore- hole near the river, and the system is still in use.
