Description

The Cottage is a house built around 1830, designed as one of a pair alongside Devonshire House. It features slobbered rubble with stone dressings and a slate roof. The building is two storeys tall and has a double front. The entrance is framed by a plain surround and a moulded hood, leading to a six-panel door. All windows are surrounded by plain surrounds, have projecting sills, and are fitted with sash windows. The corbels beneath the eaves cornice are similar in design to those used by Rickman at the Church of the Holy Ascension, built in 1838. There is a ridge stack on the left side of the roof.
