Description

The building at 1 and 2 Chapel Street, Settle, is a former group of three cottages, now used as a shop. It was built using roughly-hewn rubble stone with stone dressings and a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. There are three entrances, each with a step and plain surround. Two of the entrances on the left side are currently blocked, and all have 20th-century doors. The ground floor and upper floor each have three windows, each with a plain surround and a projecting sill. Five of the windows are 16-pane sashes, and one is a 20th-century casement window. Shaped modillions are present at the eaves. A ridge stack is located on the left-hand gable end, and another ridge stack is situated to the right of the left-hand entrance.
