SETTLE DUKE STREET (west side) Settle Social Club (formerly listed as The Ashfield Hotel)

GV II

Formerly Ashfield House, now social club. Early C19. Stuccoed, slate roof. 3 storeys, 5 bays. Ground floor of banded rustication has central semi-circular Tuscan porch consisting of 4 columns (the outer 2 engaged) with dentilled cornice; C20 doors with narrow rectangular flanking lights. 4 ground floor windows have keystones and voussoirs and sashes. Upper floors have C20 casements. Dentilled cornice and gable end ridge stacks. 2 storey 1 bay recessed wings to left and right are probably slightly later than the house. Each has projecting quoins and one window to each floor.
