Description
Undercliffe House is a house dating from the early 19th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of rubble with stone dressings and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and three bays. The central entrance porch is supported by engaged Tuscan columns and features an open pediment with a round-headed fanlight that has Gothic Revival glazing, along with a six-panel door. There are two ground floor windows and three upper floor windows, all from the mid-19th century, which have plain surrounds and projecting sills. The house is topped with a modillioned eaves cornice and has a stack at the right-hand gable end. At the rear, there is a reset decorated lintel that displays the date 1676 and the initials L AM. Inside, there is a dogleg staircase with an open string, stick balusters, and a wreathed handrail.
