Description
This is a row of three houses built as a terrace in the early 19th century. They were designed in the Greek Revival style by George Webster. The houses are constructed of stucco and have slate roofs. Each house is two storeys high and three bays wide. The flanking houses, numbered 3 and The Croft, have a central entrance accentuated by Tuscan pilasters, a triangular pediment, and palmette ornament within the pediment's space (tympanum). These entrances feature a recessed five-panel door with an egg and dart frieze above it, and a rectangular fanlight window. All windows have moulded surrounds, cornices, chamfered strainer arches with keystones, plus sash windows: two on the ground floor and three on the upper floor. The ground floor windows have moulded aprons, while the upper floor windows are defined by a sill band. Shaped modillions are present at the eaves. Gable end pilasters and ridge stacks are also visible. Windyridge, the central house, projects forward slightly, featuring pilasters on both sides and a central bay that also projects. A parapet supports an urn at each end and is raked in the centre, with a palmette decoration atop the rake. Left and right hand ridge stacks are present.
