Description
Nos 41 to 43 Newborough are early to mid 19th century buildings that were refronted from 18th century houses. Nos 41 and 42 are five storeys tall, finished in stucco with a moulded eaves cornice. Each has three windows on the upper floors, a sill course on the second floor, and architrave surrounds for the sash windows with cornices on the first floor. The centre window features tiles and console brackets supporting a scrolled leaf pediment. Both buildings have altered Victorian shop fronts. No 43 is the same height but has four storeys and is made of painted brick, also with a moulded eaves cornice. It has two windows on the upper floors, with glazing bars intact on the second and third floors, and architrave surrounds on the first floor. This building also has an altered late Victorian shop front. Nos 31, 32, and 34 to 43 form a group with No 3 King Street.
