Description
This farmhouse, located approximately 50 metres south-west of Derwent Farmhouse, dates from the mid to late 18th century and has undergone some later alterations. It is constructed of dressed sandstone, with the left gable wall rendered, and features a pantile roof and brick stacks. The building has a central stairhall plan, is one room deep, and includes a service extension to the left along with a continuous outshut.
The front of the farmhouse is two storeys high with a two-window layout, and there is a 1½-storey single window wing to the left. The central entrance features a part-glazed door from the 20th century, flanked by two large pane casement windows with stone sills. There are two similar windows on the first floor, and all openings are topped with tripartite keyed lintels. The windows in the wing are similar, but only the ground floor has a milled lintel. The gables are coped with shaped kneelers, and there are stacks at each end. The rear of the building is single storey with a catslide roof. At the time of the last survey, the farmhouse was unoccupied and undergoing renovation.
