Description
Lowdales Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the late 18th century, with some later alterations. The front is made of dressed sandstone, while the sides and rear are constructed from coursed rubble sandstone. It has a pantile roof and features stone and brick stacks. The farmhouse has a central-entry plan with an outshut and is two stories high with a three-window front. The entrance consists of a board door with a divided overlight above it. There is a later inserted small four-pane sash window with a heavy lintel above the door, and the remaining windows are twelve-pane sashes. All windows have stone sills, and there are keyed flat arches above all openings except for the center window on the first floor. The gables are coped with plain kneelers, and there are end stacks. At the rear, there is a single-storey outshut with a catslide roof.
