Description
The obelisk, located approximately 450 metres south of the house at Baldersby Park, is likely from 1733 and constructed of ashlar. It features a square base that is about 2.5 metres wide, with a two-tier square plinth above it. The shaft of the obelisk rises to approximately 7 metres in height. This structure may be the obelisk mentioned in the letters of the Robinson family. The estate was originally known as Newby Park.
