Description
This is an early to mid-18th century house located on Main Street in Asenby. The house is constructed of red brick in English bond and has a pantile roof. It is two storeys high and three bays wide, with a lobby entrance plan and a single-storey rear outshut. The front door, situated to the right of the façade, is made of four panels, the top two being glazed, and is set within a plain frame. All windows are 12-pane Yorkshire sash windows, each with an elliptical relieving arch built into the brickwork over the top. A 20th-century stack is on the roof ridge opposite the front entrance, while an original external stack remains against the left gable. A central ground floor room retains an exposed spine beam with cyma stops and back-to-back fireplaces opposite the entrance. A converted outbuilding at the right end is not considered to be of special interest.
