Description

Highfield House is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a 20th-century Westmorland slate roof. The building is two rooms deep with a service wing at the rear and stands two storeys tall with three bays. It has stressed quoins and a central entrance that likely has a 20th-century moulded wood surround topped with a triangular pediment supported by consoles. The windows are 16-pane sashes set in flush architraves, with stone sills and incised, splayed lintels that include keystones. The gable copings have ashlar capping and plain kneelers, and there are stacks at each end of the house.
