Description
This is a pump and trough located approximately 10 metres east of Quarry House, dating from the mid to late 19th century. The pump is made of cast iron and stands about 1.2 metres high. It features three moulded bands on the stem, a spout decorated with a raised leaf motif, and a fluted cap with a finial on top. The south face of the stem displays a raised flag motif and the numerals "3½". The handle is intact, and the spout has been lengthened with lead. The trough is cut from a solid gritstone block and measures approximately 40 centimetres high, 60 centimetres wide, and 1 metre long. This structure is included for its group value only.
