Description

ASKWITH WEST LANE SE 14 NE (north side, off) 10/14 Pump and trough approximately 10 metres east of Quarry House GV II

Pump and trough. Mid - late C19. Pump of cast iron, trough cut from a solid gritstone block. Pump approximately 1.2 metres high, the stem has 3 moulded bands, the spout is decorated with a raised leaf motif and the top has a fluted cap with finial. South face of stem has a raised flag motif and the numerals "3½". Handle intact; spout lengthened with lead. Trough: approximately 40 centimetres high, 60 centimetres wide and 1 metre long.
