Description

Brookroyd Cottage is a mid-18th century house located on the east side of Castle Street, Spofforth with Stockeld. The house is constructed of coursed gritstone with a Westmorland slate roof. It is two storeys in height and has two bays. The quoins are emphasised, and a central 20th-century glazed door is set within a wooden porch. All windows have moulded architraves; the ground floor windows have 20th-century bow fronts, while the first floor windows have unequally-hung sashes. The building has an ashlar coping, shaped kneelers, and brick end stacks.
