33, Burgate

33 Burgate is an early 19th-century building that stands two storeys tall, constructed from painted brick and topped with a pantile roof. The gable end features stone coping and a kneeler on the left side, with a brick stack present. A fire plaque is also visible on the building. The facade has five windows, with the centre window blocked, and all windows have triple keystones and are hung sashes with glazing bars. The ground floor has been rebuilt in modern brick, retaining the lintel of a former shop front, along with two modern windows that also have glazing bars. Access is provided by a modern door that is reached by two steps and sits beneath a modern lintel.

This building is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 15 (consecutive) and 17 to 21 (consecutive), along with Nos 3A, 6A, 12A, and 12B, which collectively form a notable architectural ensemble with Nos 30 to 40 (consecutive), where Nos 4, 5, 12A to 14, 17, 18, and 37 to 39 (consecutive) are of local interest.
