Description

Sick Bay, located approximately 40 metres west of Hunmanby Hall School, is a service building that now serves as a school sick bay. It dates from the 18th century and has been remodelled at a later date. The building is constructed of orange-red brick in Garden Wall bond on the front and right gable wall, with chalk on the rear and left wall, which features a tumbled brick gable. Sandstone quoins are present, and the roof is covered with concrete pantiles.

The structure is two storeys high with a 10-bay front. The original brick arched openings on the ground floor have been blocked and replaced with a variety of window and door types, primarily consisting of 12-pane sash windows. There is a two-storey square bay at the right end, and two large-pane horizontal sliding sashes with three lights are located on the first floor to the left. The later inserted first-floor windows disrupt the stepped and dentilled eaves course. The right corner features quoined canted corners with jettied quoins above. The building is included for its group value.
