Description

ARKENDALE MARHEAD BALK, SE 36 SE 3/4 LOW ARKENDALE (west side) Pond House Farmhouse GV II Farmhouse. Late C18. Pale brown brick. Flemish bond. Stone plinth and quoins. Stepped and dentilled eaves to rear. Welsh slate roof with stone verges and shaped kneelers. End chimneys. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Central entrance has reproduction wooden doorcase, 6-panel door and fanlight. Late C19 sash windows in flush wood architraves. Interior: rebuilt staircase incorporating C18 balusters. Round arched corner cupboard with wooden architrave and key. 1 solid chamfered beam with tongued stops. Roof structures. 2 levels butt purlins with stout collars.
