Description
A dovecote and adjoining barn, likely dating from the 17th century, was converted to domestic accommodation around 1980. The barn is constructed of squared rubble, while the dovecote features alternate courses of rubble and cobbles. Both structures are roofed with pantiles. The dovecote, a square two-story building with one bay, has a boarded door on the right-hand side, beneath a deeply projecting stone lintel. On the first floor, a boarded door is positioned to the left, alongside a 20th-century window to the right. Four brick-dressed pigeon holes are set under the eaves. The roof is shallow and pointed, topped with a ball finial. The barn is located to the right and originally comprised three bays, with further bays demolished subsequently. Quoins are visible on the left side. A 20th-century boarded door, within a quoined surround and massive lintel, is on the right side. A central buttress supports the building and has two 20th-century windows above. Slit vents are present on the left side. Shaped kneelers and ashlar coping are visible on the left. Internally, a doorway at first-floor level provided access from the barn to the dovecote.
