Description

The lych gate south of the Church of St John the Evangelist is a war memorial built to commemorate those who served in the First World War from 1914 to 1918. It is constructed from a mix of red and yellow sandstone and features a sandstone slate roof. The side walls are complemented by shaped oak gates, and the structure is supported by a timber frame that holds up a hipped roof. This lych gate is listed for its group value with the Church of St John.
