Description

No. 36 Market Street is a shop built in the early 19th century, featuring some later alterations. The front is made of incised stucco with chamfered quoins on the side of a through passage and a pilaster above. It has a graduated slate roof with a stone chimney at one end. The building stands three storeys high and has two bays. There are steps leading up to a recessed, part-glazed door that has a semicircular fanlight above it and a stone surround. To the right, there is a projecting shop window. Each upper floor contains two sash windows. This building is included for its group value.
