Description

This drinking fountain, located at the junction with Abbey Road in Barrow-in-Furness, dates from 1873 and was re-erected in 1910. It is made of red sandstone and features a round-cornered trough that has the inscription 'RE ERECTED 1910.' The trough is positioned beneath an iron spout, which is set in a recess under a chamfered Gothic arch. There is a date plaque located under the gable, which includes kneelers, chamfered copings, and a spiralled iron stem intended for a gas lamp.
