Description

The Gateway to Abbey Approach, built around 1873, is a gateway made of snecked red sandstone. It features a single Gothic arch that spans Abbey Approach. The arch is double chamfered and includes a hoodmould with plain stops. Above, there is a flat-topped parapet with triangular copings constructed in two courses. Matching wing walls flank each side of the gateway.
