Description
Hawthorne Cottage is a house dating from the mid-19th century, located in Grange-over-Sands. The building features painted roughcast walls and a slate roof, standing two storeys high with a two-window range. The windows have plain reveals and projecting sandstone sills. The ground floor windows are 20th-century casements with glazing bars, while the first-floor windows are sashed. The central doorway is framed by a gabled open timber latticework porch, which is supported by low stone walls and has a roof made of corrugated asbestos. There are chimneys on both the left and right sides, and the left-hand gable has verges that overhang on brackets.
