Description

Rose Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century, located in Main Street, Grange-over-Sands. It is built of painted roughcast with a slate roof. The symmetrical facade has three windows per floor. The windows are glazing bar sashes with margin panes, narrow painted surrounds, projecting ground-floor sills, and a sill band on the first floor. The front door consists of six raised and fielded panels, set within a stone surround with a round-arched head, impost blocks, and a fanlight. A timber trellis porch with shaped bargeboards covers the doorway. Chimneys with limestone caps are situated on the left and right sides of the building.
