Description

Three houses, likely dating from the mid-19th century, are situated on Daltongate in Ulverston. They are rendered with a pebbledashed finish and have slate roofs. The buildings are three storeys high, with cellars below. Each house has a single window bay. The windows have painted surrounds and projecting sills. The ground-floor door and window lintels of numbers 10 and 10A are linked by a band of cement render, with paired doorways. Number 10A features 20th-century casement windows. Number 10 has paired sash windows on the ground floor, a single sash window on the first floor, and a glazing bar sash window on the second floor. The cellar opening for number 10 is blocked, and the door has six raised and fielded panels. Number 8 (to the right) has paired sash windows on the ground floor and glazing bar sashes to the upper floors. A blocked cellar opening is below the ground-floor window. The door, situated on the left side, features six raised and fielded panels and is accessed by three external steps. Chimneys are located to the left, right, and to the right of number 10. The buildings are included in the listing for their group value.
