Description

No. 6 Daltongate is a house that has been converted into a shop and flats, dating from the mid to late 18th century and altered over time. The building features painted roughcast walls and a slate roof. It stands three stories high and has four bays. The windows are glazing bar sashes with painted stone surrounds. There is a cellar opening located below the third ground-floor window. The right-hand bay includes a carriage entrance with a plain stone surround, featuring a round arch with impost blocks and a keystone. The two left-hand bays on the ground floor have a timber shop front from around 1900, which includes fluted pilaster strips and a cornice. The building has chimneys located on the gables.
