Description

LOWER HOLKER B5278 SD 3676 (West side) Holker 9/135 Nos.3 and 4 Holker 25.3.70 Cottages (formerly listed as Holker Cottages with Nos. 1 and 2) G.V. II 2 houses. Before 1849. Possibly by George Webster. Roughcast stone with slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays; attached to Nos. 1 and 2 (q.v.) but projecting forward from them. Windows have splayed reveals, those to ground floor with plaster label moulds, and 2- and 3-light casements with iron glazing bars in octagon and square pattern common to the Holker estate. Gable-end stacks and cross-axial stack. Entrance to 1st bay has board door and open timber gabled porch, similar entrance to right return.
