Description

Numbers 3 and 4 Holker Cottages are two houses located in Lower Holker, built before 1849, possibly by George Webster. They are constructed of roughcast stone with a slate roof and stand two storeys high with three bays. These cottages are attached to Nos. 1 and 2 but project forward from them. The windows feature splayed reveals, with those on the ground floor having plaster label moulds. The cottages have 2- and 3-light casements with iron glazing bars arranged in octagon and square patterns, which are typical of the Holker estate. There are gable-end stacks and a cross-axial stack. The entrance to the first bay includes a board door and an open timber gabled porch, with a similar entrance on the right return.
