Description
Park View, Rose Cottage, and Rose Dene are three houses built before 1847, possibly designed by George Webster. They are constructed of roughcast stone with rock-faced dressings and feature a slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high and consist of five bays, with the first bay breaking forward under a gable, while the other bays have gablets. The stone base and quoins are notable, along with the ornamental bargeboards.
On the ground floor, the windows have labels above the lintels and include 3-light and 2-light casements with iron glazing bars arranged in octagon and square patterns typical of the Holker estate. The first floor features similar windows, mostly with two lights, but the windows in the first and third bays have three lights, with the central light positioned higher.
Entrances are located between the second and third bays and between the fourth and fifth bays, each featuring an open timber gabled porch with board doors. The houses have gable-end stacks and two cross-axial stacks. The left return includes a projecting gabled bay and a re-entrant hipped timber porch, with two entrances that have half-glazed doors. The right return has a lean-to outshut.
