Description

This is a group of three former pigsties and a midden retaining wall, now part of the terrace at the Crofters Public House. They date from the early 19th century and are constructed of red sandstone rubble with graduated slate roofs. The pigsties are single-storey and consist of individual cells arranged in a line, with wing walls that enclose open yards between them. Each pigsty has an original front opening, and the gable openings have been enlarged to access the yards. The wing walls also feature three original slop stones. At the rear-left of the leftmost pigsty, there is a former midden retaining wall. These structures are included for their group value as part of a planned farm layout.
