Description
Crofters Public House is a former farmhouse dating from 1828, with some parts rebuilt in the late 19th century. The building is roughcast with red ashlar sandstone dressings and has a slate roof. It has a T-shaped plan with a porch at the angle. The structure is two storeys high with an attic and features four windows on the first floor and one on the ground floor. The porch has a chamfered round arch and a hipped roof.
On the main range to the left, there are quoined and chamfered mullioned windows with wooden casements. The ground floor windows consist of three and four lights, while the first floor windows have three, one, three, and two lights. The crosswing on the right includes a tall, two-light window on the ground floor and another two-light window in the attic. The building has gutter blocks and oversailing verges, along with tall sandstone chimney stacks with offsets; there are end stacks on the left and in the crosswing, and a ridge stack on the left of the main range. The right return features a date plaque and later window additions. The proportions of the building suggest it may have origins in the 18th century.
