Description
Sleddall House is a late 18th-century building that has been converted to office use. The date 1830 on the rainwater head at the north corner refers to the adjacent property, number 35, which is listed separately. The house features incised stucco with a chamfered plinth, a first-floor sill band, and a corner pilaster at the north side. It has a slate roof with brick end chimneys and stands three storeys tall with five symmetrical bays. The central entrance has a 20th-century panelled door and a rectangular fanlight with a stone surround that carries a cornice. There are two sash windows with glazing bars on either side of the door, five sash windows with glazing bars on the first floor, and five slightly shorter sash windows with glazing bars on the top floor. The front of the property is enclosed by cast-iron area railings from the early 19th century, featuring spearhead standards with plain shafts and fleurs-de-lis finials that have lobed bud bases and lobed mushroom tops. The central gate is made of wrought iron and dates from the 20th century.
