Description
1 Buxton Place is a house that has been converted into a restaurant. It dates from the early to mid 19th century and features a painted roughcast exterior with a slate roof. The building stands three storeys high and has a symmetrical two-window arrangement. The windows are framed with painted stone surrounds that include projecting sills and a sill band on the first floor. They are fitted with glazing bar sashes that have margin panes.
The entrance doorway, which is accessed by two stone steps, also has a painted stone surround with a round head and impost blocks. The door itself consists of eight raised and fielded panels. The gable chimneys are topped with limestone ashlar caps, and the gables have bracketed verges. Notably, the left-hand gable wall is angled to align with the lane and features a round-headed stair window adorned with Gothick glazing.
