Description
9 and 11 Fountain Street are houses that now function as a house and shop with accommodation above. They are probably from the 18th century and feature painted roughcast exteriors. The left side, No.9, has an asbestos slate roof, while the right side, No.11, has a slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high. No.9 has two bays with glazing-bar sash windows that have painted timber reveals and projecting stone sills. The left bay includes a yard entrance with a boarded door, and the doorway on the right has a 20th-century glazed door. No.11 has three windows on the ground floor and two on the first floor, which are 20th-century casements with glazing bars, plain reveals, and projecting stone sills. The doorway is located on the right side. There are chimneys situated between the two houses and to the right of the first bay of No.9. Inside No.11, the ground floor has been altered, but it still features a main ceiling beam between the first and second windows, which has chamfer stops at its front end.
