Description

The footbridge over the railway at Cark and Cartmel Station is a Grade II listed structure built in 1857 for the Ulverston and Lancaster Railway, which later became part of the Furness Railway. It is constructed from cast and wrought iron. The stairs feature openwork splat balusters and newels topped with ball finials. The landings are supported by fluted columns with round bases and foliated capitals, and the bridge has three-centred arches with tracery spandrels. Both the landing and the bridge are adorned with lattice balustrades.
