Description
No. 3 Market Street is a cottage dating from the late 17th to early 18th century, which has been altered over time. The building is roughcast over stone and features a roof made of composition tiles and graduated slate. It stands two storeys high and has two windows on the first floor. There is a glazed door located to the right of the center, with a two-light casement window to its left and a three-light casement window to its right, both having projecting sills. On the left side, there is a tall square-headed carriage entrance that provides access to King's Mount, with a two-light casement window above it. The window on the right side of the first floor appears to have originally been a three-light chamfered mullioned window, which has had its sill cut away, with the mullions repositioned to the sides and a two-light casement inserted. A large external end stack is located on the right side of the building. The interior has not been inspected. This cottage is part of the Market Place group.
