Description
The Cavendish Arms Public House is a public house dated 1855, located in Barrow in Furness. It features scored stucco and a coated slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has four windows on the first floor. The entrance includes a broad, studded door with a plain overlight set in an architrave with a cornice supported by consoles. There are 6-pane sash windows on each side of the door, with the left windows having projecting sills and shouldered architraves. To the right, there is a basket-arched carriage entrance with imposts and a keystone that is dated. On the first floor, the windows are 4-pane sashes set in shouldered architraves. The building has fascia brackets supporting the ogee guttering and a limestone ridge stack on the left. The interior has undergone extensive remodelling, which likely conceals a core that predates the 19th century.
