Description
The White Horse Public House is a public house located on Market Street in Dalton In Furness. It was rebuilt in the mid-19th century from an earlier structure. The building features scored stucco and a graduated slate roof. It has two storeys and an attic, with a window arrangement of one window on the left and two windows on the right on the first floor.
The entrance consists of a raised six-panel door with an overlight, set within a doorcase that has fluted pilasters and a modillioned cornice beneath a rusticated panel, topped with a 20th-century lantern. On either side of the door are six-pane sash windows in raised and shaped surrounds. The first floor has a name panel in a moulded frame positioned between four-pane sashes in plain, raised surrounds.
The left end bay is a later addition, featuring tall six-pane casements on both floors and a canted corner. The roof is hipped at the left end, with a stack located at the hip.
