Description
7 King Street is a house that has been converted into a cafe and flats. It dates from the late 18th century and has been altered. The building features painted stucco with painted stone dressings and a slate roof. It is three storeys high and has two bays facing King Street. The ground floor includes a glazed shop front with a timber fascia, which extends to include one bay of the left-hand gable wall that faces Upper Brook Street. The left side of the facade has raised rendered quoins.
On the first floor, the windows are 20th-century casements set in architraves with narrower detached pediments above. The second-floor windows are sash windows without glazing bars and also have architraves. There is a gable chimney on the left side. The left-hand gable wall features three bays with window surrounds on the first and second floors that match those at the front. The right-hand windows are blind, and between them is a stair window with a round head, which is a sash window with glazing bars.
On the ground floor, to the left, there is a wide 20th-century window with a timber lintel. To its right, there is a painted stone Tuscan doorcase with engaged columns, an open pediment, and a Gothick fanlight.
