SD 5293 SW KENDAL APPLEBY ROAD (East side)

6/7 Nos 46 & 48 (formerly listed as 24-4-51 Mill House & no 24) II

Mill House and Cottage. C18 with later additions and alterations. Wet-dashed rubble. Graduated slate roof with rendered chimneys (projecting to north end). 2 storeys. No 46 (Cottage) single bay with full-height canted bay window; door to rear. No 48 (House) symmetrical, 5 bays. Central panelled door in corniced wooden architrave with 2 sashes to either side on each floor (some retain original wide glazing bars). Interior of no 48: cut-string dog-leg stair of 3 flights with square newels, turned balusters, moulded handrail, and scrolled tread-ends. Original 8-panel doors.
