Description

No. 65 Castle Street is a house built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed from limestone blocks with quoins and features a first-floor sill band. The roof is hipped and covered with graduated slate, topped by a central stone chimney. The building has a symmetrical design, consisting of two storeys and three bays. The central entrance has a 20th-century studded plank door with a rectangular fanlight above, set within a doorcase that includes pilasters supporting a cornice. The windows are sashes with glazing bars, and the ground floor sashes have segmental heads. It is said that this house was built for a railway official.
