Description
Fell Side Farmhouse is a late 17th century or early 18th century building that was altered in the 19th century. It has two storeys and is plastered with a slate roof. The farmhouse features three chimneys and three windows; the leftmost window, likely added in the 19th century, is sashed, while the other two are coupled with unmoulded surrounds and mullions, also sashed but without glazing bars. There is a gabled porch with a modern door.
Inside, the farmhouse has exposed beams throughout. On the ground floor, there are two 17th century panelled doors. The staircase is an open well design with a closed string, featuring square newels, a heavy moulded handrail, and very thick turned balusters. On the first floor, there are three additional 17th century panelled doors. The roof at the rear includes a section with trenched purlins and raised open cruck construction.
