Description

KENDAL ROAD 1. 5166 Fell Side farmhouse SD 57 NE 3/51 II

  1. Late C17 or early C18, altered C19. Two storeys. Plastered. Slate roof. Three chimneys. Three windows, the leftmost added probably C19 and sashed. The rest coupled with unmoulded surrounds and mullions, sashed without glazing bars. Gabled porch. Modern door. Interior. Exposed beams throughout. On ground floor, two C17 panelled doors. Three flight open well closed string stair and landing with square newels, heavy moulded handrail and very thick turned balusters. On first floor three C17 panelled doors. Roof at rear consists in part of trenched purlin raised open cruck.
