Description
Underley Lodge is a picturesque lodge built in the later 19th century. It is two storeys high and constructed of brick with sandstone dressings, topped with a tiled half-hipped roof and featuring one chimney. The main facades display three steep gables with pierced bargeboards. The first floor under the central gable and at the ends is jettied, and there are elements of imitated half-timbering. The windows on the ground floor are of three lights with chamfered surrounds and stone mullions, while the first-floor windows are of two lights with wooden frames, all glazed with ornamental lattice. The building has a modern double entrance, whereas it originally had a first-floor entry. For gatepiers, please refer to a separate entry.
