Description
Goose House Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, which has been altered over time. It is constructed of brick with scored render, featuring a stone plinth and some visible quoins. The roof is covered with slates at the front and stone slates at the rear, and there is one ridge chimney and one gable chimney on the left side. The building has a three-bay baffle-entry plan and stands two storeys high, with bands running along the front and rear.
At the junction of the second and third bays, there is a two-storey porch that includes stone seats. On the left side, there are two windows on each floor, while the right side features a glazed door and a window, both of which have been altered and modernized. The rear of the farmhouse has a board door on the left and modern windows.
Inside, the second bay contains an inglenook fireplace with a heck and wooden spere, as well as a large ovolo-moulded bressummer. The beams on both floors are chamfered with cyma stops, and there are secondary beams on the first floor. A quarter-turn staircase of early 18th-century style is located at the rear wall of the second bay. The doors feature fielded panels, some of which are shouldered, and there is a large smoke hood on the first floor.
