Description
Rowley Fold Farmhouse is a farmhouse, believed to date from 1780. It is constructed of coursed and squared sandstone and features a slate roof with two chimneys at each gable. The building has a double pile plan with two rooms on each side and stands two storeys high. The front wall is symmetrical and includes rusticated quoins, a doorcase supported by Tuscan columns with an open pediment, and a fanlight with radiating glazing bars. There are five sash windows with glazing bars set in plain stone cases. The left gable has a blocked attic window at the apex. The rear of the farmhouse features a central stairlight window with three vertically arranged openings, although the top opening is now blocked. Additionally, there are three large three-light stone flush-mullion windows and two doors. Inside, there is a dogleg staircase with an open string, scrolled brackets, a ramped handrail, and stick balusters.
