Description

This is a farmhouse, later converted into a house, dating to approximately 1800, and altered subsequently. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with some quoins, and has a slate roof with brick chimneys. The building follows a double-depth, four-room plan. The two-storey, three-bay facade is symmetrical, featuring a central doorway with a Tuscan doorcase topped by a pediment. There are two windows at ground floor level and three above, all with raised surrounds and now fitted with top-hung casements containing glazing bars. The gables have copings and kneelers, and there are gable chimneys. A return wall on the left side has a similar window and a former doorway that has been altered into a window. The rear elevation includes an inserted doorway, a square window to the first bay, a tall stair window with an arched head and intersecting glazing bars, and three small windows at the first floor level. The interior has been altered. Repairs were underway in 1987 following damage caused by subsidence.
