Description
The sundial located south of the Church of St. Leonard is possibly from the early 19th century and was re-erected in the early 20th century. It is made of sandstone and features a brass gnomon along with limestone columns. The sundial is supported by five columns, each with caps and bases, standing on an octagonal base that holds a circular face. Inscribed around its raised rim is a dedication: 'This ancient sundial is re-erected by his friends and parishioners in memory of the Rev. J. Arthur Rushton M.A. vicar of this parish from 1897 to 1907.'
