Description

This milestone, likely from the late 19th century, is located on Loop Road, 50 yards south of the junction with Hollins Lane and Windermere Road. It is made of limestone with chamfered edges and is painted white. The lettering is plain and incised, painted in black. On the north side, it indicates that Kendal is 2 miles away, while the south side shows that Windermere is 6½ miles away. There is also a bench mark on the side.
