Description
Plumgarths Cottages, previously known as Low Plumgarths, is a house dated 1611, now divided into two cottages. It features roughcast render and a graduated slate roof, with two large chimneys that have circular shafts. The building is two storeys high.
No 1 has a 20th-century porch with a 19th-century door, a 20th-century casement window to the left, and a 19th-century window to the right, with three sash windows above. No 2, which was likely originally the service wing, has a 20th-century porch and door, along with two 20th-century casement windows.
Inside No 1, there are chamfered beams with tongued chamfer-stops. The kitchen has a blocked 3-light timber mullioned window, and there is a similar blocked 2-light window in the bedroom. The living room features a doorhead with a flattened Tudor arch, and the bedroom has a decorated plaster frieze and beam with trailing vines. The roof contains Queen strut trusses, and there are remains of a plank and muntin partition.
