Description
The Dale is a farmhouse that likely dates from the late 17th century, with alterations and additions made in 1752, as indicated by a date on the lintel at the rear. It is constructed of hammer-dressed red sandstone and features a graduated green slate roof with coped gables and kneelers, along with large stone chimney stacks at each end. The building has two storeys and two bays.
The entrance includes a top-glazed four-panel door framed by a plain painted stone surround, and there is an open lattice iron porch with a shaped canopy. On the ground floor, there are two light, two-pane sash windows with flat stone mullions, and similar windows above, all featuring glazing bars and plain stone surrounds.
